National Bank. ("National" or "N.A." appears in the bank's name.) Contact the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, 404-331-4540 or 202-447-1600.

State-chartered bank in the Federal Reserve System and FDIC-insured. (Sign at the bank will say "Member, Federal Reserve System" and "Deposits Insured by Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation." "National" and "N.A." do not appear in the name.) Contact the Federal Reserve Board, 404-521-8500 or 202-452-3000.

State-chartered banks and savings banks not in the Federal Reserve but FDIC-insured. (Sign will say "Deposits Insured by Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation." No sign will say "Member, Federal Reserve System." "National" and "N.A." do not appear in the name.) Contact the FDIC, 404-525-0308 or 800-424-5488, or the Georgia commissioner of banking and finance, 404-393-7330.

Federal Savings and Loan Associations and Federal Savings Banks. (Generally, "Federal" or "FSB" or "FA" appears in the name. Sign will say "Deposits Insured by FSLIC" or "Deposits Insured by FDIC." Contact the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, 404-888-8000 or 202-377-6237.

Federally chartered credit unions. ("Federal credit union" will appear in the name.) Contact the National Credit Union Administration, 202-357-1065.

Finance companies and other lenders not listed above. Contact the Federal Trade Commission, 202-326-2222.
